IHA Healthcare and Hospital Recognition Luncheon

IHA Healthcare and Hospital Recognition Luncheon

For its 62nd year, legacy MCHC’s Annual Luncheon has a new name – the IHA Healthcare and Hospital Recognition Luncheon – reflecting our integration with the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA). This year’s luncheon picked up on the success of our previous events and our long tradition of honoring the contributions of healthcare workers.

The luncheon, themed United in Care, was on Tuesday, May 10 at the United Club at Soldier Field. The celebration began at 10 a.m. and included entertainment and a healthcare vendor fair. The luncheon was an opportunity for member organizations to recognize the outstanding service healthcare workers provide their communities.

The keynote speaker was David Axelrod, who is widely known for his roles as President Obama’s Senior Advisor between 2009 and 2011 and Senior Strategist of the 2012 Obama Re-election Campaign. He is currently the Director of the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics and a Senior Political Commentator for CNN.

Axelrod also has a deep connection to healthcare through Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE), which he and his wife founded in 1998. The Chicago-based organization has raised more than $32 million for epilepsy research.
