Answering our member’s needs for 80 years
The Membership Services department serves more than 170 hospital and health care organizations that currently comprise MCHC’s membership. The Council’s Institutional members include all 89 acute care hospitals and their integrated delivery systems in the eight-county metropolitan Chicago region – Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Lake, Kane, Kankakee, McHenry and Will. Associate members include hospitals and other provider organizations located in the tri-state area such as community health centers, outpatient treatment centers, long-term care and facilities for behavioral health and the developmentally disabled, physician groups, insurers, private ambulance companies, blood banks, medical and nursing schools.

As the Trusted Voice and Resource for Healthcare, MCHC provides its members with a comprehensive advocacy program at all levels of government, with emphasis at the local level, supported by a public affairs department that serves as the industry spokesperson on key issues. With a wide variety of educational events, networking opportunities and an assortment of pertinent resources offered to members, MCHC enhances their ability to care for their communities through access to health care and improved delivery of services.
MCHC’s culture of innovation drives development of solutions purchased by hospitals and health systems, enabling them to succeed in the rapidly evolving health care delivery system. In order to provide the highest membership value, the programs, services and solutions offered to the membership are unique to MCHC.
MCHC’s successful business model has held membership dues at current levels since 1989.
- Programs and Services
Creates the annual MCHC Membership Directory: The directory includes MCHC member hospital addresses, phone numbers and websites, public relations contacts and hospital facts, such as staffed beds and trauma designations. The directory helps members keep in touch with their colleagues in the Chicago hospital community and provides members of the media with contact information.
Coordinates MCHC’s Annual Luncheon and Annual Meeting. The luncheon provides members with an extra opportunity to recognize their staff for the outstanding service they provide on a daily basis. The event features a keynote speaker and attracts an audience of more than 700, providing a tremendous networking opportunity with colleagues across the metropolitan Chicago region. The Health Care Vendor Fair provides an opportunity for members to see what is new in the market and learn about new MCHC shared services products.
