Illinois Poison Center Addresses Increase in Carbon Monoxide Poisonings

Recent data from the Illinois Poison Center (IPC) illustrates the need for more education regarding the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. In 2005, the IPC received 873 calls regarding carbon monoxide. Through Oct. 31 in 2006, the IPC has already received 914 calls, with two of the coldest and most notorious months for carbon monoxide poisoning remaining in the year.
