Hospitals in the metro Chicago area collectively contributed more than $3.5 billion in charitable contributions and community benefits in 2008, up 10 percent from the previous reporting year according to a new report released today by the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC). MCHC is a membership and service association comprised of more than 150 hospitals and health care organizations working together to improve the quality of health care services in the metropolitan-Chicago area.
