In light of the recent earthquake in Haiti, Federal officials are encouraging health care workers to register with their state’s Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP). Also, America’s health care industry can provide critical assistance by donating essential medical equipment through the Clinton Foundation to doctors and emergency personnel.
STERIS System 1 is the subject of an FDA Notice stating that the current piece of equipment has not gained the appropriate pre-market FDA clearance for several modifications that have been made to the system over many years.

March 2nd - Energy Smart Hospitals - Energy Management Training
The United States Department of Energy is partnering with the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC), Practice Greenhealth and the Chicago Green Healthcare Initiative (CGHI) to provide MCHC members with the most current energy efficiency management information, tailored to Illinois Hospitals’ operations and maintenance. The program is designed for both administrators and operators.
