The workforce initiative will include the clinical rotation scheduling tool, the Caring for the Future task force and other strategies aimed at increasing the number of health care workers. During the initial year, the state has provided funding for MCHC to focus on three important initiatives: to develop and regionalize strategies to increase the number of nurses licensed by the state over the next year; assist in the development and implementation of a core health sciences curriculum in middle, high school and post secondary educational settings and implement strategies to increase the numbers of bilingual, minority and disabled workers in the health care workforce.
